In 2018, I launched a streetwear brand called "GEN", which stood for the next generation of streetwear. Through my hard work, I was able to discover talented local artists to showcase my brand at music venues and festivals. The tremendous success of my brand enabled me to achieve my dream of getting into my desired university with ease. It's amazing what you can achieve when you put your heart and soul into something!

The Beginning
When I decided to launch my own streetwear company, many people in my inner circle strongly advised against it and even discouraged me from pursuing a career in design. They cited the high rate of business failures and the lack of financial security in the design industry as their primary reasons for concern. However, I saw this as an opportunity to prove them wrong and demonstrate my potential.

Even while juggling two jobs and college, I confidently started sketching ideas and strategized on how I could make my brand take off. As a former DJ, I had connections in the music industry that I knew I could leverage. With a clear plan and unwavering determination, I knew I could turn my dreams into a reality by tapping into my network and taking bold steps towards success.

Release
The response from the first festival was so overwhelming with numerous phone calls flooding in that I had to quickly put together a team to manage the rush. Thanks to their support, I was able to launch my second collection just in time for the next festival.

This experience was an absolute game-changer for me. It allowed me to realize my biggest dream of attending my dream university and pursuing my passion for design. Looking back at this experience, I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for the invaluable leadership skills that I was able to develop along the way. I am forever thankful for this experience and the opportunities that came with it, and always remember that with hard work and determination, anything is possible.
